It can be used to treat fungal infection of skin and mouth. It can treat oral infections like oral candidiasis or oral thrush by preventing the growth of fungus. Thus, Gentian violet oral treatment provides relief from oral thrush.

How to use gentian violet for curing oral thrush?

The steps are as follows:
1. Protect your clothes while applying gentian violet so that it is not stained by gentian violet.

2. Take a cotton swab or Q-tip.

3. Dip into 1 percent gentian violet solution.

4. Now, using this cotton swab paint the mouth including the tongue.

5. Make sure that the painted areas include the affected area.

6. Be careful that it is not swallowed.

7. Spit the excess of gentian violet solution.

8. Use it according to the doctor’s advice. Usually, it is to be applied 3-4 times a day.

9. Continue for 3-4 days.

Gentian violet treatment is able to cure oral thrush within 3-4 days.

If the gentian violet oral treatment is not able to cure the oral infection, then Candida albicans is probably not the reason for the oral infection so, you should consult your doctor to find out the exact cause and get proper treatment.

After using gentian violet, some people and infants may develop sores and irritation in the mouth. If they stop using Gentian violet then, these sores should disappear. If these don’t disappear then you should seek medical advice.
